After starting his career at Google, Sam led the Environmental Investment Organisation (EIO), a not-for-profit research body to become the first and only organisation in the world to rank the world’s largest listed companies by their greenhouse gas emissions and disclosure. In 2014 he co-founded ET Index Research to commercialise the work of the EIO. Sam is author of Environmental Tracking 3.0 and serves on the Board of a human rights NGO. He also mentors several other young companies in the climate change sector. Sam holds a first class degree in French from the University of London Institute in Paris.
Joaquim was Global Head of Quantitative Research at HSBC Global Banking and Markets, and oversaw the Green Revenues division within HSBC’s climate change index offering. His work includes the creation of the world’s first global macro quantitative climate framework, focused on identifying opportunities for climate-related investing. He was appointed to the research advisory panel whose role it was to oversee Mercer’s seminal work on ‘Climate Change Scenarios – Implications for Strategic Asset Allocation.’ He has advised a number of index compilers, as well as governments and sustainability assurers.
Jonathan has over a decade’s worth of expertise in portfolio risk modelling. Before joining ET Index Research, he completed the development of a global multi-asset class portfolio risk model at Credit Suisse. He has worked at investment and trading houses across four continents. Jonathan holds an MSc in Financial Mathematics from Stanford University and a BSc (Honours) in Physics and Mathematics from the University of British Columbia. He is currently completing an executive PhD in Finance at EDHEC Business School, the leading business school for index-related financial research.
Vijay joined ET Index Research in May 2017. Previously, he was Global Head of Indexation Research at its Global Banking and Markets division. Here, he led and managed a global team developing analytics, research and thought leadership research content for multiple internal business and external client dissemination. At HSBC, he co-created, launched and marketed the HSBC Global Climate Change Index, the world’s first quantitative investment strategy designed to capture the transition to a lower carbon economy based on green revenues.
